About KEMA

KEMA is Awards HMI La — the Haitian music awards, judged on numbers and on the work, not on friendships.

IOur mission

KEMA recognizes excellence within the Haitian Music Industry (HMI). Our mission is to ensure a fair, transparent voting process that celebrates the diversity and creativity of Haitian music across the world.

KEMA la pou rekonèt ekselans nan endistri Mizik Ayisyen an (HMI). Misyon nou se asire yon pwosesis vòt ki jis, transparan, ki selebre divèsite ak kreyativite nan mizik ayisyen nan tout mond lan.

The Numbers Nominate

From October 2025 to September 2026, we count how much the music is streamed on platforms like YouTube Music, Apple Music and Spotify. Those numbers choose the five nominees.
Ant Oktòb 2025 ak Septanm 2026, nou pran an konsiderasyon kantite difizyon mizik yo sou platfòm tankou YouTube Music, Apple Music ak Spotify. Se sou baz done sa yo nou chwazi senk nominasyon yo.

The Jury Decides

100 judges from many sectors and regions rank the nominees. The points decide the winner.
100 jij ki soti nan plizyè sektè ak plizyè rejyon klase nomine yo. Se pwen yo ki bay gayan an.

Everything in the open

After each winner, KEMA publishes the voting ledger. Nominees always appear in alphabetical order, so nobody reads a ranking that does not exist.
Apre chak gayan, KEMA pibliye rejis vòt la. Nomine yo toujou parèt nan òd alfabetik, pou pèsonn pa li yon klasman ki pa egziste.

Honour the work

KEMA exists to celebrate the artists, musicians, writers, producers and everyone moving Haitian music forward — on their numbers and the quality of their work, not on friendships.
KEMA la pou selebre atis, mizisyen, otè, pwodiktè ak tout moun k ap fè mizik ayisyen an avanse — sou chif ak sou kalite travay yo, pa sou zanmitay.
