Every song, album, EP, video, event and performance released between October 1, 2025 and September 30, 2026. Anything after September 30 rolls into the next edition — no exceptions.

The numbers. From October 2025 to September 2026, we count how much the music is streamed on platforms like YouTube Music, Apple Music and Spotify. Those numbers choose the five nominees.

The Voting Committee, or Jury, has 100 members representing key sectors of the HMI community, including: Musicians — Producers — Radio & TV personalities. KEMA selects members from multiple regions to ensure national and international representation, including: Haiti, Miami, Montreal, Paris, Boston, New York, Port-au-Prince, Port-de-Paix, Cap-Haïtien, Jacmel and Les Cayes.

There are 100 judges. In each category every judge ranks the five nominees from first to fifth. First is worth 5 points, second 4, third 3, fourth 2, fifth 1. The nominee with the most points wins the category. A vote counts only if the judge ranks all five nominees (or every nominee, when a category has fewer than five). An unfinished ranking stays saved and the judge can finish it until voting closes, but it does not count until it is finished. Rankings saved before October 3, 2026 count as they are.

Because the order must say nothing. On every image, every list and every ballot the five nominees appear in alphabetical order, so nobody can read a ranking that does not exist yet.

The jury nominates nothing in these two categories. For Best Song it picks its top five from every song already nominated across Konpa, Rap, Variété, Gospel and Collaboration. For Best Album the pool is Konpa, Rap, Variété and Gospel.

That category's voting ledger: how many judges voted, how many points each nominee earned, how many first-place votes. Each judge's individual vote is revealed after that category's winner is announced — not before.

No. A judge with a direct interest in a category — as artist, writer, producer or label — does not vote in it. Their vote is not counted, and the ledger shows how many judges actually voted.

FanVote is the public vote for the Fan Favorite award. From December 1 to 25, 2026, fans vote for their favourite artist among the nominees of the Artiste de l'année categories (Production and Stage Performance). The fans decide it, not the jury.

The 2026 rules are frozen. Every criteria set is confirmed and the "awaiting KEMA sign-off" marker is removed: Album, EP, Artist, Author/Composer, Producer and Video (19 categories). No other change will be made to the rules unless it appears here, with its date.
